The Motability Scheme helps you get mobile by exchanging your qualifying mobility allowance to lease a new affordable car. Motability and PIP Whether you are looking for your first vehicle, you're already an existing customer and in search of your next new vehicle, or you're searching for servicing and maintenance support, our team is on hand to help you through every step of your journey.

To lease the vehicle of your choice, you may exchange all, or part, of your mobility allowance. You can choose the vehicle you want at a price that works for you, and payments are deducted from your allowance every four weeks, then paid directly to Motability by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) or Veterans UK.

Adaptions The Motability Scheme has a range of vehicle adaptations that can be fitted to help make driving or traveling easier. Many of these adaptations are available for no extra cost if they are fitted at the start of your lease. Adaptations fall into three categories which include; helping you drive, getting in and out, and stowing your wheelchair or scooter. At W R Davies our Motability specialists can help you choose the right adaptations for your needs.

Carers A Carer is very important for a disabled person and helps keep their freedom of mobility. It’s important to remember that as they have not been assigned by the DWP or Veterans UK that they cannot place an application on behalf of the disabled person, however, they can help them choose a suitable car and apply to join the Motability Scheme.

What is an Appointee and their role?

An appointee may be needed when the disabled person is under 16 years old or unable to look after their own affairs. Appointees are solely responsible for collecting state benefits for the disabled person and for deciding how they are used. They are assigned by the Department for Work and Pensions. You would be the hirer of the Motability Scheme vehicle and legally responsible for the lease agreement, on behalf of the disabled person. It’s, therefore, your responsibility to ensure that the Scheme car is used for the right purpose and that the disabled person has full access to it. You also take full responsibility for any outstanding monies for the Scheme lease agreement. Contact Us
