William Rees Davies 1895 - 1981
Had a workshop at the back of Vaynor Hall. In 1924 moved to Berriew and bought The Old Post Office.
Opened The Rhiew Garage ( latterly Silver Scenes). Had vehicle workshops. Bought, sold and rented cars.
Morris Agency 1935
Licensed in 1931 to drive the School Bus, which was also available for hire.
1938 moved to Welshpool
Bought Tudor's Garage on Salop Road.

Purchase of KJ Ford - Llandudno & Llangefni
Ford Motor Company wanted to have fewer, but larger partners. Ivor Jones of Llangefni and Arriva Ford of Colwyn Bay had merged into a new company called Kirby Jones Ltd or KJ Ford.
W R Davies purchased Kirby Jones Ltd in 1999.
The company was approached by Jennings Homes and several other house builders to sell the site in Welshpool for housing development. The Welshpool dealership moved to a new much smaller facility at the old Bunner's Commercial Services Workshop.
Purchased Aber Ford in Rhyl to complete representation of North and Mid Wales.
The company also built a brand new Citroën dealership and was appointed by Citroen Franchise for Stafford. Also addition of DS Automobiles franchise.
2004
Company appointed a Nissan franchise for Stafford and moved into Moss Pitt Garage, the old Renault Premises in Stafford.
2008
The first W R Davies team entered The Coracle World Championships. Watch our teams past and present tackle the antics and raise money for McMillan cancer.
2010
Built a new showroom on the Llandudno site and was appointed Renault franchise for the whole of North Wales
2014
New W R Davies Ford Llangefni Dealership Opens.
The company was approached by Greenhous Group, who were looking to add Ford to their portfolio of brands. The sale of Welshpool and Newton was concluded in 2015.
Parts Distribution Centre, North Wales Hub.
2017
Purchase of Toyota Shrewsbury and Telford and Nissan Telford.
Commended the Motability Group of the Year.
Awarded The Chairmans Award for Excellent Customer Service by Ford UK.
2018
Nissan Stafford Opens on a 3-acre Greenfield site, with £3m investment. The first in the country with the new Nissan "Retail Concept". Watch the build here

Covid-19 was the first time that W R Davies had closed its doors in 95 years.
2022
Reopen its doors fully and exceeded turnover of over £124 million with 250 employees. Watch Craig from the Citroen team explain the new restrictions here.
£6.5m funding package to acquire a new site in Walton the old Vauxhall dealership and workshop expansion to support the expansion plans for the business
2023
A change of emphasis by Ford UK and Ford's future lower-volume plans require fewer points of representation. Therefore the business proposed to support its loyal customers with a multi-million investment to redevelop Rhyl to a Nissan-appointed franchise and retain Ford Approved Service Centre adding new commercial vehicles service area.
